Independence Hall is the birthplace of America. In this building, the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution were both debated and signed. Since 2003, the Liberty Bell has been on display in a building in front of Independence Hall, The Liberty Bell Center. Here, millions of visitors a year come to see the Bell, positioned in a glass chamber with a view of Independence Hall in the background.
The museum’s holdings encompass more than 240,000 works including iconic works such as Paul Cézanne’s Large Bathers, Vincent van Gogh’s Sunflowers, Edgar Degas’s Interior, Édouard Manet’s Le Bon Bock, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec’s At the Moulin Rouge, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s Great Bathers.
